Laura Ely is a Transformational Health coach. She received her M.A. from Goddard College in Health Arts and Sciences. She received her health coaching certification through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and the Columbia University Teacher’s College. Laura is certified in the Transformational Coaching Method (TCM) and trained as an Energy Medicine Practitioner, Reiki Master and Personal Fitness Trainer.
Laura has taught courses with the Groton Parks & Recreation in Nutrition and Fitness. These include, “Healthiest Loser”, “The Vegetarian and Vegan Challenge” and the “Gluten Free, Sugar Free Challenge”. She ran a summer camp for kids called TRI Camp: Food, Fit and Fun. Her Eating for Energy program given at the Mystic and Noank Library for the OSCA group aired on GMTV. She was also guest of Groton’s Health Watch Show on GMTV. As a speaker at Stonington High School’s Family University Laura taught a class called Eating for Energy: Red Bull not included. The class focused on how to gain more energy in each and every day without red bull and multiple cups of coffee.
Laura’s passion is helping people find the balance they need to maintain a healthy and active life. Statistics show that making healthy lifestyle choices which include nutrition, movement and mindfulness, can greatly reduce and even reverse heart disease, cancer, type II diabetes and obesity. Making nutritional and lifestyle changes helps your body find its ideal weight.
